Roddfield House

Roddfield House is a house dating from around the mid-19th century, located on Trelissick Road in Hayle. The building features stuccoed walls and a hipped dry Delabole slate roof with projecting eaves. There are stuccoed chimneys situated over the entrance front and the rear wall. The house has a double depth plan with a central entrance hall that leads to a stair hall at the rear. On the left side, there are two reception rooms that face the garden, while the right side likely contains a study and a kitchen at the rear.

The exterior is two stories high and includes a plinth, rusticated quoin strips, and similar rustications around the doorway and the recessed architraves of the window openings. The east front is symmetrical with three bays, featuring a central doorway and a window above it. The left and right bays have blind window openings. The original panelled door has an overlight, and all principal openings, except for the ground floor of the garden front, have original 12-pane hornless sash windows. The south garden front has two bays and possibly later 19th-century stuccoed canted bay windows on the ground floor. These windows include panelled plinths, mullions with moulded capitals, and a moulded cornice to the entablature. The horned sashes may also be original. The interior has not been inspected but is likely to retain its original internal features and joinery.
