Description
Seacott is a house dating from the early to mid 19th century. It is constructed of stucco on a rubble base and features a dry Delabole slate roof with a moulded eaves cornice. The building has two hipped dormers with square 12-pane horned sash windows and a stuccoed end stack on the left. The plan is irregular and shallow, with a double-depth layout.
The house has two storeys plus an attic and an overall four-window range. It displays rusticated quoins and an enriched band. The ground floor windows have flat arches with keyblocks and hoods supported by consoles, featuring original 12-pane sashes, except for later 4-pane horned sashes. To the left of the doorway, there is a two-storey canted bay with hornless sashes and glazing bars. The round-arched doorway has panelled reveals and a plain fanlight above the original panelled door, and it is framed by a distyle Tuscan porch with a moulded entablature. The interior has not been inspected but is likely to be of interest.
