Description

Northfield Cottage is a small house, likely dating to the late 18th century, and attached to Myrtle Cottage. It is constructed with stucco over possible cob, with painted rubble visible, and has an asbestos slate roof with brick end stacks. The house has a shallow-depth plan with a small extension at the rear. The front elevation is symmetrical, featuring three windows on each floor. The ground-floor windows are closer together than those above. The original or early 19th century sash window to the right of the ground floor retains hornless glazing. Other windows are later additions and have horns. The central doorway has a panelled and glazed door, which was boarded over at the time of the survey. The interior of the house was not inspected.
