Description

This drinking fountain, located at Town Quay in Falmouth, was built in 1860 and is inscribed with "F.P.O." (Falmouth Packet Office) and "BONO." It is made of dressed granite and stands on a granite base. The fountain features a pyramidal cap with a moulded cornice, a frieze, and an architrave above a half-domed niche that has square-edged imposts. The bowl is corbelled and canted, with a small half-domed drain niche and a stepped apron that bows at the center. The fountain is included for its historical significance and its contribution to the group value of the area.
