Description
The Quayside Inn is a public house located on Arwenack Street in Falmouth, dating from the mid-19th century. The building features a rendered front and a stuccoed rear, with a double-depth plan and three storeys. The symmetrical front has three windows, with late 19th-century horned sash windows and canted bays on the upper floors at both the left and right, rising to a plain parapet. The central doorway has a four-panel door with an overlight, while a window on the right is obscured by a sign. The rear of the building is three storeys over a basement, also featuring a symmetrical three-window design facing the harbour. The original 12-pane hornless sashes are present on the second floor, and the first floor has similar windows but with the glazing bars removed from the lower sashes; the rest of the windows are from the 20th century. The basement includes a central original porch with a moulded entablature and a pair of glazed doors from the 20th century. The interior has not been inspected. The building is included for its group value.
