Description

This is an 18th-century townhouse, now operating as a restaurant, located in Arwenack Street, Falmouth. The building is constructed of killas rubble with timber lintels, and features a steep scantle slate roof and brick end stacks. A cast-iron ogee gutter runs along the roofline. It has a double-depth plan, including a rear wing. The house is three storeys high and has a three-window front. The windows are late 19th-century four-pane hornless sashes, with the exception of a 20th-century glazed door inserted into an enlarged former window opening on the ground floor to the right, and a glazed door replacing the original central doorway. The interior has not been inspected. The building contributes to the group value of the important collection of 18th and early 19th-century buildings in the area.
