Description

This house dates from around 1800 and is located on Grovehill Crescent, Falmouth. It is constructed of killas rubble with brick arches, with slate hanging to the rear. The roof is hipped, covered with asbestos slate, and features a moulded eaves cornice and a triangular pediment over the central bay, which projects slightly. A central brick stack is present.

The house follows a single-depth plan and has two storeys with a three-window front. The windows are sash windows with glazing bars. A round-arched sash window with a fanlight is located on the ground floor to the left. A 20th-century canted bay window has been added to the ground floor on the right. The central doorway is round-arched, topped with a plain fanlight, and contains a 20th-century door.

The right-hand return has a nearly round arch framing an original first-floor Venetian window featuring hornless sashes and a central fanlight with sidelights that are taller than the central sash. The interior of the house has not been inspected, but it is likely to contain features of interest.
