Description

This barn, located approximately 80 meters northeast of Trehill Farmhouse, is likely from the late 17th century or early 18th century, with some minor later alterations. It is constructed from roughly coursed slate-stone with granite dressings and features a corrugated iron roof. The barn has two levels. On the front, there is a doorway to the left and a window to the far right, both positioned directly below the eaves. The ground floor includes two doorways on the right, with one doorway partly infilled, and a roughly central doorway flanked by two small windows. To the left, there is a tiny rectangular recess with a wooden window that has a crudely carved ogee arch. The left side also has a truncated external end stack and a lean-to structure at the rear.

Inside, the barn features a continuous loft supported by chamfered cross beams, providing space for hay delivery at the back wall. There is a spiral staircase located in the lean-to projection. The roof consists of collar trusses arranged in three bays on either side of a central stone cross wall. The presence of the staircase and the stack indicates that the left end of the barn may have been used for domestic purposes. Trehill Farmhouse is not included in this listing.
