Description

Valima is a house dating from the early to mid-19th century, with later additions and alterations. It is constructed of roughly coursed slate stone, featuring alternating granite angle quoins and dressings, and has slate roofs. The building consists of two sections, with the left section slightly projecting. It is two storeys high and has a three-window front on the left section, which includes 16-paned horned glazing bar sashes, except for a blind window in the centre on the first floor. The first-floor openings are segmental headed with wedged voussoirs, and there is a continuous granite lintel above the ground floor.

A central hip-roofed glazed porch features stained-glass margin lights, including a half-glazed door. There is an integral end stack with a red brick top on the left side and a similar stack on the right at the junction with the right section. The right section has two 16-paned horned glazing bar sashes with a wide continuous granite lintel on the ground floor, and a segmental-headed 16-paned horned glazing bar sash directly below the eaves on the right side. This section also has an integral end stack with a red brick top.

Attached to the right gable end is a lean-to with a rounded corner at the front. Additionally, there is an early 20th-century conservatory at the rear. The left section is likely the earlier part of the building, as a straight joint is visible at the rear.
