Ivy Cottage

Ivy Cottage is a house dating from the 18th century, with some alterations made in the 19th century and a few later changes. It is constructed of slatestone rubble and has roughcast sides. The roof is made of slurried slate, featuring ridge tiles and gable ends, with gable end stacks that have rendered shafts. The layout consists of a two-room plan, with a larger room on the left and a smaller room on the right, both heated by gable end stacks. There is an entrance leading to a passage between the two rooms, and an integral outshut at the back that is unheated.

The exterior is two storeys high and has an asymmetrical front with three windows. The first floor features three 19th-century four-pane sash windows. On the ground floor, there are two four-pane sashes and one plate-glass sash on the left. The house has a gabled open-fronted porch with a 20th-century half-glazed door, and a four-pane sash window to the right. The right end has a four-pane sash window on both the ground and first floors to the left, while a single-storey 20th-century garage is attached to the right. The left end has a four-pane sash window on the first floor to the right. At the rear, there is a 20th-century door along with four-pane sashes and a plate-glass sash. The interior has not been inspected.
