Description
Poolpark is a house dating from the early 18th century, constructed of slatestone rubble with a rag slate roof featuring gable ends. It has a rendered stack on the left gable end and a brick stack on the right gable end. The building has a double depth plan with a central entrance leading to two front rooms that are heated by end stacks, and two narrower service rooms located at the rear in an integral outshot.
The exterior is two stories high with a symmetrical five-window front, showcasing dressed stone flat arches above the ground floor openings. The central entrance features a partly glazed 20th-century porch with a hipped end, flanked by four early 20th-century four-pane sash windows. On the first floor, there are five 8-over-12-pane hornless sash windows, which were likely renewed in the 20th century. The 20th-century porch was rebuilt on the site of an earlier service room on the left gable end.
The interior has not been fully inspected, but it is noted that the ground floor has been partly altered in the 20th century, while the lath and plaster partitions remain in place on the first floor.
