Description
Elm Cottage is a house dating from around the mid-18th century. It is constructed from rendered and painted local stone rubble, with rendered and painted cob above the first floor. The roof is made of rag slate, featuring gable ends and brick end stacks. The layout consists of two rooms and a cross or through passage, heated by end stacks.
The exterior is two-storeys high with an asymmetrical front that has one window. The entrance is near the centre and features a two-panelled 18th-century door. To the left is an early 19th-century two-light casement window, with the right-hand light replaced in the late 19th century. There is a blocked window opening to the right of the entrance. Additionally, there is an early 20th-century two-light casement window in a half dormer with a raking roof, located to the left of centre. The interior has not been inspected.
