Description

The tombchest of Rev. George Allanson, who died in 1741, is located directly to the east of the chancel of the Church of St Uda in St Tudy. This monument, erected in 1741, is made of granite ashlar with a rectangular slate lid. It was commissioned by Elizabeth, his grieving widow and the daughter of Sir Jonathan Trelawney. Elizabeth passed away in 1744.
