Description
This house, located immediately west of Lanherne Avenue in Mawgan-in-Pydar, is likely from the 17th century, with some alterations made in the 19th century and later. It is constructed of slatestone rubble and features a bitumenised slate roof adorned with handmade crested ridge tiles and gable ends. The left gable end has a stack made of brick, while there are two front lateral stacks on the right, also with brick shafts. The right end of the roof is hipped.
The house has a three-room plan, with one room on the left heated by the gable end stack, and the entrance along with two rooms on the right, both heated by the front lateral stacks. The building is two storeys high and has an asymmetrical three-window arrangement. The first floor showcases three 19th-century 16-pane sash windows in exposed boxes. On the ground floor, there are two sash windows to the left, with a door situated between them. This door is a plank door with a glazed panel inserted and is sheltered by a gabled wooden porch. To the right, there is a casement window and a 20th-century door.
While the interior is not accessible, it may still contain features from the 17th century.
