Description
Elm Cottage is a house dating from the early to mid-19th century, with later additions and alterations. It is constructed of roughly coursed painted slate-stone, with slate hanging on the front and a slate roof. The building has two storeys and features an asymmetrical front with three windows. The windows are primarily 16-paned glazing bar sashes, except for a horned 12-paned glazing bar sash located to the left of centre on the first floor. A prominent half-glazed porch with a hip roof is situated at the centre of the front. The house has integral end stacks and includes a lower gabled range that is positioned at right angles to the rear, along with a prominent two-storey lean-to attached to the left gable end.
