Description
Manor Cottage is a house dating from the late 17th century, with later additions and alterations. It is constructed of roughly coursed slate-stone, with slate-hung cladding on the front and a slate roof. The building has two storeys and a gable-lit attic, featuring a three-window front with three-light 20th-century casements that are smaller on the first floor. A central wide gabled porch contains a half-glazed door. There is a small chamfered rectangular leaded window on the first floor to the right gable end, and a similar window in the attic on the left gable end. The house has prominent external end stacks with slate dripstones. To the left, there is a single-storey 19th-century gabled range with a plank door and a three-light casement. Additionally, there is a two-storey gabled range from the 19th century that projects at right angles to the rear on the right, which includes a two-storey catslide outshut at the back of the main range. The interior could not be inspected during the resurvey in November 1987, but it is likely to be of interest.
