Description

This is a barn, likely dating from the mid-19th century, situated on the east side of the yard at Treswell Farm. It is constructed of stone rubble with granite dressings and has a rag slate roof with hipped ends. The barn follows an overall rectangular plan, with the ground rising to the rear, providing direct access to the loft. The ground floor contains a range of shippons (small animal shelters), while the first floor houses a threshing floor.

The asymmetrical front elevation features a 19th-century doorway to the left, flanked by two window openings, with 20th-century extensions to the right. The granite lintels above the openings are continued as a continuous string course. On the first floor, double doors are situated to the right, alongside a single door to the left, both sheltered by slate hoods. Narrow ventilation slits and a row of pigeon holes are visible below the eaves. The rear elevation has threshing doors with slate hoods. The interior of the barn has not been inspected.
