Barn, Cartshed And Row Of Pigshouses On South Side Of Yard At Treswell Farm

The building consists of a barn, cartshed, and a row of pighouses located on the south side of the yard at Treswell Farm. It likely dates from the early to mid 19th century and is constructed from stone rubble with granite dressings. The roof is slate, featuring hipped ends and a gable end on the lower range to the right.

The barn has a rectangular plan, with the pighouses attached on the right side and a 4-bay cartshed on the left. The two-storey barn is centrally located and has wide doors to the left of the center, flanked by narrower door openings. The granite lintels above these openings form a continuous string. On the first floor, there are two doors with a row of pigeon holes between them.

To the left, slightly forward, is the 4-bay open-fronted cartshed supported by unmoulded granite piers. On the right side, there is a lower range of pighouses, which features two pairs of doors on the left and one door on the right, with granite and timber jambs. The rear elevation remains unaltered, showcasing narrow ventilation slits. The interior has not been inspected.
