Description

NORTH PETHERWIN BRAZACOTT SX 29 SE 4/93 Thatched Cottage - GV II

House. Circa late C17 or early C18. Rendered and painted stone rubble and cob. Thatched roof with hipped ends with brick end stack on right with clay tiled roof to C20 lean-to extension to rear. Plan: 2-room and passage plan with larger hall kitchen on right heated by end stack and smaller possibly parlour or service room on left which may have been originally unheated. Late C20 service outshot added across rear. Exterior: 2 storeys. Asymmetrical 2-window front. C20 replacement door and probably late C19 or C20 open porch flanked by C20 casement on left and C19 or C20 casement to right. Two circa late C19 casements on first floor. Interior: Right hand room has chamfered ceiling beams and the remains of a partition on the right hand side of the passage.
