Description
Dornaford Cottage is a small house dating from the late 17th century or early 18th century, with extensions made in the 19th century. The building features rendered cob and rubble walls and has a gable-ended thatched roof. There is a rendered stack at the left gable end and a brick stack at the right end. Originally, the house likely had a two-room plan, with the right-hand room being heated. In the 19th century, it was extended by one room at the left-hand end, along with some rear additions.
The exterior is two storeys high and has an asymmetrical front with four windows, which are a mix of 20th-century one, two, and three-light casements. At the centre, there is a 20th-century flat-roofed conservatory or porch with a glazed door. The rear of the house includes outshuts. Inside, the right-hand room features wany closely-spaced insubstantial beams and a wood lintel above the open fireplace.
