Description
Primrose Cottage is a small house dating from the late 17th century or early 18th century. It features rendered cob and rubble walls and has a gable-ended thatch roof with two brick gable end stacks. The layout consists of a two-room plan, with each room heated by a gable end fireplace. A 20th-century staircase has been inserted between the two rooms.
The exterior is two storeys high and has a regular two-window front, featuring later 20th-century one and two-light casements without glazing bars. Access is provided through a 20th-century conservatory located along the rear wall.
Inside, the left-hand room contains an open fireplace with a cambered wooden lintel that is chamfered with run-out stops, along with a rough ceiling beam. The roof structure consists of straight, insubstantial principal rafters resting on wall plates.
