Description

Ashreigney is a house dating from the early to mid-18th century. It is built of rendered cob with a thatched, gable-ended roof. Brick stacks are located at each gable end. Originally, the house likely comprised two main rooms, possibly with a small central service room or entrance hall, with each outer room heated by a gable-end stack. The front facade is asymmetrical, featuring a four-window arrangement with 20th-century 2-light casement windows. A 20th-century gabled, open-fronted porch is situated to the right of centre, sheltering a part-glazed door. Above a ground-floor window to the left of centre is a date stone inscribed "1744". Internally, rough beams are visible on the ground floor, and the fireplaces have been blocked.
