Description

Rose Cottage is a cottage dating from the early 18th century, with additions from the 19th and 20th centuries. It features rendered cob walls and a gable-ended thatch roof, with a brick stack located at the right-hand end. The original plan was likely a single room heated by the gable end stack, with a 19th-century outshut added to the left-hand end.

The cottage is two storeys tall and has an asymmetrical front with two windows. The ground floor has three 20th-century casement windows, which include one-, two-, and three-light designs. The outshut at the left-hand end projects to the rear and includes a small two-storey wing with a 20th-century part-glazed door.

This cottage is part of an interesting hamlet that originally consisted of identical cottages arranged in a row.
