NORTH PETHERWIN SX 28 NE 8/120 North Petherwin village hall and - garden wall to front

National school and school house now village hall and garden wall to front. 1844 (datestone). Local stone rubble. Slate roof with gable ends. Two diagonally set brick shafts to the axial stack. Plan: Comprising 2 storey school house in a cross wing to left, set slightly forward, and single storey school to right with central entrance through original porch. Exterior: Regular 1:2 window front; single storey school room to right with central gabled stone rubble porch with 4-centred arch and plank door, flanked by two C20 3- light casements in earlier openings with dressed stone arches. 2 storey school room in projecting gabled cross-wing to left with entrance in right hand side with 4- centred arch. Boarded window opening on ground foor and 3-light window above with diagonal leaded glazing bars. Datestone '1844, National School', on right hand gable end. C19 stone rubble garden walls to front with stone rubble, square-on-plan gatepiers. Interior: Not inspected.
