Description
Hellescott Cottage is a farmhouse that has been converted into a private house, with garden walls at the front. The building features rendered and painted stone rubble and cob, with part of the right-hand gable end hung with slate. It has a rag slate roof with gable ends and stone rubble end stacks, the left-hand stack projecting. The plan consists of two rooms and a through passage, heated by end stacks, with service rooms added in an outshut during the 19th century. The exterior is two storeys high and has a somewhat asymmetrical three-window front, featuring 20th-century windows in earlier openings. There is a 20th-century door to the left of centre, flanked by two 20th-century windows, with three additional windows above. The interior was not accessible at the time of the survey. The front garden wall is made of rendered stone rubble and cob, topped with slate coping.
