Description
Trebeath Farm Cottage is a farmhouse that has been converted into a private house. It likely dates from the late 17th century and was extended in the mid to late 20th century. The building is constructed from rendered and painted stone rubble and cob, topped with a rag slate roof that has gable ends. It features stone rubble end stacks, with the right-hand stack projecting.
The layout consists of a two-room and cross or through passage plan, heated by end stacks. The entrance is located to the left of center, leading into a larger room on the right. The rear of the cottage was extended in the mid to late 20th century, possibly replacing an earlier service outshut.
The exterior is two stories high with an asymmetrical front that has two windows and the entrance to the left of center. There is a 20th-century plank door, with 2-light casements on either side in their original openings. On the first floor, there are 20th-century windows near the center, which have roughly chamfered lintels, and a 20th-century 2-light casement to the right. The interior has not been inspected.
