Description
The walled garden and pavilions located to the west of the gatehouse and Penheale Manor are likely from the 18th century. They feature stone rubble and cob construction, with high stone rubble and cob walls capped with slate that enclose the garden. At the northwest and southwest corners of the garden are two small pavilions, each with a square plan and pyramid-shaped roofs made of rag slate. These pavilions are two storeys tall, and the northwest pavilion includes a reset 17th-century timber door frame with a chamfered and stopped square head on its front elevation. The lower terraced garden within the walls was designed by Lutyens.
