Description
NORTH PETHERWIN SX 29 SE 4/64 Billacott Cottage - II
Small house. Probably C17. Rendered and painted stone rubble and cob. Rag slate roof with gable end on right and hipped end on left. Large projecting stone rubble and cob end stack on right. Plan: Original plan comprising single room with entrance on left, directly into ground floor room, heated by end stack on right. Small C20 lean-to extension on right hand gable end and entrance moved to small C20 lean-to extension on left. Exterior: 2 storeys. Asymmetrical 1-window front with 2-light casement in blocked entrance on left and similar casement to right. First floor has 2-light casement. Small C20 extensions on right and left. Interior: Large deeply chamfered circa C17 main floor beam with circa late C19 or C20 joists. Fireplace partly blocked with C20 grate.
