Description
This is an outbuilding, likely an open fronted cart shed with a granary above, dating from the early 18th century. It is constructed from rendered and painted stone rubble and cob, with slate hung on the rear elevation. The building features a slate roof with hipped ends at both the front and rear.
The overall plan is rectangular, with narrower sides at the front and rear. The ground floor is open fronted, leading to a plank door that provides access to the loft or granary above, which is reached by an external stair at the rear.
The building stands two storeys high and has an almost symmetrical front elevation. The rear elevation is slate hung and includes a stone rubble stair leading to the granary. Inside, there are heavy, roughly chamfered cross beams and floor joists that support the first floor, although the first floor itself has not been inspected.
