Description

The Lodge, with attached gatepiers, is a Grade II listed building located on Church Street in St Day. It dates from the early 19th century and has been altered. The building is constructed of granite ashlar with a tiled roof that imitates slate and features a brick chimney. It has a two-unit rectangular plan positioned at right angles to the street and is a single storey high. The front wall is canted with recessed panels on all sides, and it includes a 12-pane sashed window at the front and a blocked window on the left (north) side. The roof is low and hipped with projecting eaves, and there is a ridge chimney situated between the rooms. Attached to the right side near the front is one of a pair of tall square granite gate piers, which have flat caps. Beyond the gates, the front wall appears to be rendered on stud-work and features a small lean-to porch, one 12-pane sashed window on the left, and two on the right. The interior has not been inspected.
