Description

ST DAY CHURCH STREET SW 74 SW (east side) 11/342 The Lodge, with attached gatepiers GV II Lodge to The Cedars. Early C19, altered. Granite ashlar, tiled roof imitating slate, brick chimney. Two-unit rectangular plan at right-angles to the street. Single storey. Canted front wall with recessed panels in all sides, a 12-pane sashed window in the front, a blocked window in the left (north) side; low hipped roof with projecting eaves; ridge chimney between the rooms. Attached to the right-hand side near the front is one of a pair of tall square granite gate piers, which have flat caps. Beyond the gates, the front wall appears to be of render on stud-work, has a small lean-to porch, one 12-pane sashed window to the left and 2 to the right. Interior not inspected.
