Description

No. 1, including the attached gatepier to the churchyard, is a house and gatepier dating from the early to mid-19th century. It features solid rendered walls and a slated roof, with a rendered chimney on the right gable end. The building has two storeys and a three-window range, with the right-hand window set in a lean-to projection. The entrance has a late 20th-century studded door topped by an open triangular pediment on shaped brackets. The windows to the left are two-paned sashes, while those to the right are sashes with margin panes. There is a blind window above the doorway, and a moulded board runs below the eaves. The interior has not been inspected. Attached to the left-hand front corner of the lean-to is a square gate-pier that predates the churchyard's remodelling in 1865, featuring a chamfered plinth and a moulded wood cap, which is probably rebuilt. This building is included for its group value.
