Description

The Royal Mail Public House (part) comprises two early 19th-century houses, although the structure may incorporate earlier fabric. The building has solid rendered walls and slate roofs, with a red brick chimney at the right-hand end of the rear wall. Number 2 is three storeys high and features a two-window front. The ground-floor openings – a doorway and two windows – are currently boarded up. The upper-storey windows are largely box-framed sash windows; the window to the left of the second storey has two panes, while the left-hand third-storey window is a three-light wooden casement. Number 3 is two storeys high and also has a two-window front. The ground-floor windows are boarded up, and at each end is a 19th-century shop display window topped by an entablature. The second-storey windows are six-paned sash windows within box frames. The interior has not been inspected.
