Description
This is a house, likely built in the early 19th century and altered in the mid-19th century. It has solid rendered walls and a slate roof, with rendered chimneys on each gable end. The two-storey, three-window front has a doorway where a ground-floor window once stood. A flight of seven slate steps leads to the front door, flanked by low walls with pedestals at the base. The door itself is six-panelled, with the two lower panels flush and a moulded architrave. The windows have matching architraves and bracketed sills. The left-hand ground-floor window is a two-paned box-framed sash, the centre of the second storey is a six-paned sash, and the exterior windows are eight-paned. A boxed eaves cornice runs along the top of the building. A small ground-floor window with four-paned horned sashes in a box-frame is visible on the left side wall, facing the church. The interior was not inspected, but the half-glazed inner front door features glazing bars arranged as Gothic arches and contains spandrel panes of coloured glass. The right-hand ground-floor window has been replaced with a large canted bay with a flat leaded roof, a panelled base, and two-paned sashes, except for a narrow light on the front right. Group value is evident in its contribution to the character of the area.
