Description
6 and 7 Church Walk are a pair of houses built in the mid-19th century. They have solid rendered walls and a slate roof that is hipped to the right. Each house features an old red-brick chimney on the gable wall. The buildings are three storeys high and have a two-window range, although the arrangement of windows is generally irregular.
The paired doorways are located in the center of the ground storey and have chamfered and stopped jambs, with a continuous cornice supported by enriched consoles. Each doorway is fitted with a six-panelled door. The entire front of the houses is flanked by raised cement quoins. There is an entablature at the sill level of the second storey, and a bead-moulded board runs below the eaves.
The ground-storey windows are plain, featuring plain sashes, with triple windows on the left side. The upper-storey windows have shaped cement surrounds; those on the second storey and the left-hand end of the third storey have barred sashes in box frames, with six panes, except for the eight-paned windows on the left of the second storey. Notably, No 6 has a blind window on the third storey, while No 7 has two open windows, one of which on the right is currently unglazed. The interior has not been inspected.
