Description
7 and 8 Lower Meddon Street are a pair of houses, likely built in the early 19th century with some additions from the mid-19th century. They feature solid rendered fronts and slate roofs, with two red-brick chimneys on the left gable and one rendered chimney on the right gable. The buildings are three storeys high and have a three-window range. They are almost a mirrored pair with doorways located in the center, although the middle window in the upper storeys is off-centre, positioned above the doorway to No 7. The doorways are round-arched and have keystones, with four-panelled doors, the upper panels of which at No 7 are now glazed. The windows have raised, shaped cement surrounds and consist of six-paned sashes in box-frames. The front is flanked by raised cement quoins, and there is a plain board below the eaves. No 7 also features a third-storey window in the left gable wall that matches those at the front. The interior has not been inspected.
