Description
No. 4 Lower Meddon Street is a house dating from the early to mid 19th century. It has a solid rendered front and a slate roof, with a late 20th century red-brick chimney on the right side wall. The building is two storeys high and features a two-window range. The front is flanked by raised cement quoins. The doorway, located to the right, has an open pediment supported by shaped brackets and panelled reveals, with the lower panels flush. The half-glazed door, likely intended as an inner door, has two solid moulded panels at the bottom and glazing-bars with margin-panes at the top. The windows are sash style, featuring margin-panes and horns, with jambs shaped to resemble masonry quoins and lintels that have slightly pointed tops. The interior has not been inspected.
