Description
The Methodist Church, along with its forecourt wall, gate piers, and gates, is an early 19th-century building. It is constructed of random rubble with polygonal ashlar corner pilasters that end in thin pinnacles. The church features a coped gable front with a thin ashlar bellcote at the top and a slate roof. Its Gothic design includes a triple lancet window at the center of the front, and below this is a gabled porch with coping. The porch has a pointed arch door opening set in a chamfered stone surround, with a drip moulding above and a plank door featuring a glazed panel. The forecourt wall is made of rubble with saddleback coping, and there are a pair of recessed central gate piers topped with cross-gabled caps. The gates are railed, with a decorative wrought iron overthrow. Each side of the entrance has a short, curving section of wall capped with plain wrought iron railings and spear caps. The interior contains some stained glass.
