Description

This is a house, later converted into flats, built in the early 19th century with alterations made in the late 19th century. The ground floor is finished with high rubble and roughcast, designed to look like ashlar. The upper floors have smooth rendering also designed to resemble ashlar. A moulded cornice sits beneath a parapet with plain coping, and the roof is covered in pantiles with rendered chimney stacks at the ends. The building is arranged in an "L" shape with a symmetrical front. It has three floors and a basement, with three bays featuring sash windows, each with the top sash arched. A central, raised doorway is set within a semi-circular recess and has a four-panelled door, fanlight, and an open triangular pediment supported by brackets, all within a plain stone surround. A double set of six stone steps lead to the door, flanked by short sections of early 19th-century wrought and cast iron railings, and two urn finials. It was restored in the 20th century.
