Description

The Axbridge Lion is an inn dating from the early 19th century. It is constructed of rendered material with corner pilasters and has a hipped roof covered in double Roman tiles, topped by two prominent brick stacks. The building is three storeys high and has three bays, featuring 16-pane sash windows, with the exception of the second floor windows which have 12 panes. To the left of the main block is a two-storey outshut with a similar style, displaying double half-glazed doors and a wider opening originally for a carriageway, now containing a 20th-century door with narrow glazed lights. A decorative wrought-iron bracket is located at the left corner of the main building, and a 20th-century signboard is present.
