Description
No. 5 West Street is a late 18th-century house that has been converted into offices. The building is rendered and features a hipped double Roman tile roof with a brick ridge stack. It stands two storeys high with a basement and has a layout of 1:4 bays, with the left bay projecting. The windows are 12 and 16-pane flush mounted sash windows, some of which are paired. The right corner of the projecting wing is chamfered and has a sash window on the first floor, along with a plank door set in a segmental-headed opening that includes a transom light. The main entrance is nearly at the centre of the right four bays, featuring a six-panelled door in a semi-circular headed opening, topped with a fanlight that has radiating glazing bars. A flat stone hood is moulded around the edge and supported by paired consoles.
