Town house with later shop. 1686 date with inscription 'I. Trehauke' to masonry at 1st floor right, refronted mid/late C19. Stucco on studwork slightly jettied over shop; painted stone set back on right; roof not visible; moulded eaves, cast-iron ogee gutters. Deep narrow plan. 3 storeys; 1-window range plus 1-window short return. 4-pane and 2-pane hornless sashes within moulded architraves. Late C19 double shop front with central splayed doorway; panelled stall risers with fielded panels; slender turned columns flanking plate-glass lights and sidelights with caps with centres; tall C20 fascia under moulded cornice. Rear has mid/late C19 chamfered 3-light casement with glazing bars to ground floor, possibly a replacement of original mullioned window. INTERIOR: C17 open-well closed-string staircase with oak twist balusters and 1st floor front chamber with bolection-moulded chimneypiece and panelled overmantel. A notable survival of an early town house on a narrow-fronted plot.
