Description
No. 19 Fore Street is a shop with accommodation above, built around the 1880s. It features painted brick with decorative moulded details and a dry slate roof that has projecting eaves supported by ball finials on corbels. The building has a triangular corner site plan and stands three storeys tall with a two-window range. The original horned sash windows, which have glazing bars in the upper parts, include a paired sash on the left and a single sash on the right on the second floor. There are hoodmoulds linked to a string course and a moulded band between the upper floors. The first floor displays segmental heads over a tripartite sash window on the left, a single sash on the right, and keyblocks that rise through the hoodmoulds. The shop front is a fine and complete original feature, with quadrant lights flanking a doorway positioned to the right of centre. It also includes double transoms with coloured glass in the top lights, pilasters beside the doorway, and wider end pilasters with pedimented consoles, topped by a sloping fascia with a moulded cornice. The interior has not been inspected.
