Description
Nos. 21 and 23 on Fore Street in Liskeard is a shop with accommodation above, dating from the early to mid-19th century. The building features incised stucco on studwork and has an asbestos slate roof with projecting eaves. It has a double-depth plan and stands three storeys tall with a three-window range. The original twelve-pane hornless sash windows are set within moulded architraves. The shop front retains its original double design, featuring a pair of six-pane windows to the left of the shop doorway and a six-pane window on the right, along with a return light. The wide doorway on the left has 20th-century doors and is framed by panelled reveals, with an original glazed door and fanlight above. The fascia is squat with a moulded cornice. At the rear, the building is constructed over the Pipewell on Well Lane, with a three-storey wing to the left of the well that has timber lintels over sash windows with glazing bars. The right-hand return of the other wing features an early 19th-century flush-beaded six-panel door. The interior has not been inspected.
