Description
No. 69 Market Place is a shop with residential accommodation above, dating from the mid-18th century and altered in the early 19th century. The building is constructed of red brick and features a roof made of interlocking 20th-century tiles. It has two storeys and a two-window range. The south front is rendered and colourwashed, with a half-glazed door located at the extreme right, sheltered by a hood supported on scrolled consoles. To the left of the door is a late 20th-century shop front and door, followed by a 2/2 horned sash window. On the first floor, there are two late 20th-century horned sashes with a 6/6 configuration. The roof is gabled and hipped to the west. The west gable end features an early 19th-century bowed shop display window with glazing bars. Above this, on the first floor, is a canted bay window fitted with three 6/6 horned sashes, separated by panelled stiles. The window is adorned with scalloped sash hoods and a timber cornice that includes modillions and dentils. The interior has not been inspected.
