Description

The Statue of Charity, located in the courtyard of Fishermen's Hospital in Great Yarmouth, is a Grade II listed structure, likely created around 1702. It underwent repairs in 1960 and was restored by English Heritage in 1987. The statue is made of painted cast lead and stands on a brick plinth, which was added in 1987. The sculpture depicts a nearly life-size female figure representing Charity, dressed in drapery, holding an infant in her right arm while shielding a child who stands by her left leg.
