Description

23 Fore Street is a town house with a later shop, built in the early 19th century. It features granite ashlar construction and has sill bands, a dry slate hipped roof with deep front eaves that have a panelled soffit, and cast-iron ogee-section gutters. The building is three storeys high and has a symmetrical seven-window range. The windows are 19th-century small-paned sashes with margin panes and small horns. The ground floor has a recessed shop front that was added in the late 20th century. The interior of the ground floor was altered in the late 20th century, and the rest of the interior has not been inspected.
