Description
No. 38 Fore Street is a town house with a later shop, likely built in the 18th century. It features a stucco front on studwork and has a steep corrugated asbestos roof with slightly projecting front eaves. The building has a deep plan that includes a rear wing at right angles. It stands three storeys high and has a two-window range. The ground floor has a partly renewed early 20th-century projecting transomed double shop front with a splayed central doorway. To the left is the house doorway, which has a one-panel door with pilaster jambs, an entablature with a moulded cornice, and an overlight. The interior of the shop has been altered in the 20th century, and the rest of the interior has not been inspected.
