Description
No. 21 Church Street is a town house with a later shop, likely built in the early 19th century. The exterior features stucco over what is probably studwork, with end pilasters, a second-floor sill string, and an egg and dart cornice at the projecting eaves. The roof is covered with asbestos slate. The building has a double-depth plan and stands three storeys high with a three-window range. The original windows are 12-pane hornless sashes. The ground floor displays a moulded and dentilled cornice above an early 20th-century recessed shop front. There are three granite steps leading up to the house doorway on the right, which is framed by fluted columns. The doorway itself has an 8-panel door with fielded panels and an 8-pane segmental-arched fanlight, along with early 20th-century stepped granite end pilasters. The interior has not been inspected.
