Shop premises. 1908 date plaque. Lavishly detailed painted terracotta and render on probable brick: original scantle slate roof. Mannerist Classical style. 3 storeys; 3 bays to 2nd floor with 1:3:1 lights with glazing bars. Paired pilasters with entablature flanking wide Venetian window with moulded hood to 1st floor under moulded mid-floor cornice. End pilasters to 2nd floor linked to moulded parapet cornice under shaped parapet with coping cornice, the centre rising higher as open pediment with short end pilasters framing Baroque-style carved tympanum with date panel. Moulded sills, eared architraves, console keyblocks and mid-window band. 1st-floor window has central 3-light transomed mullion with glazing bars above transom; carved panels to flanking pilasters. Shop front has large plate-glass windows and deep splayed doorway on the left with spoked fanlight; panelled soffit over entrance. INTERIOR not inspected. A striking composition, similarly treated to the right return wall. Included for group value.
