Description
No. 26 Market Street is a town house with a later shop, dating from the early 19th century. It features a textured finish, likely stucco, and has an asbestos slate roof with a rendered stack on the right side. The building has a deep plan and stands three storeys high, with a two-window range that includes original 12-pane hornless sash windows. The first floor has recessed round arches with keyblocks and an impost string, while a sill string is present on the second floor. A 20th-century dormer breaks the eaves. The ground floor has a 20th-century three-light shop front with a doorway on the right, and a house doorway on the left that features a 20th-century six-panel door. The interior has not been inspected.
